Borders on being a bit too atmospheric for a melo black album, but some of the epic symphonics and fantastic songwriting make this a damn good album. This has scattered post-rock elements throughout, or at the very least post-black/blackgaze elements in it’s songwriting, as most heavily evidenced by the final track. I actually think it’s pretty neat to hear something like this with a combination of very distinctly modern songwriting techniques as well as some tried and trve traditional melodic black metal elements. Definitely a huge step up from their last album, and imo the best thing they’ve ever done. Good album, glad to see old obscure bands still being able to improve and change their sound so many years later!
